Default What to buy the other half??

she is 21 passed her test 3 months ago
she currently has a 106 1.1 which has no electric anything no power steering and she wants rid for something different.
Got about 2k to spend it can be diesel or petrol as she does not do alot of miles. has to have powere steering and preferably slightly bigger than a 106

You can't go wrong with a Ford Fiesta.

Fiesta would be a great choice. Petrol or diesel isn't really going to matter in a car like that which isn't going to do massive miles. The small petrols return low 40s driven gently.

think they did the KA with the 16V 1.25 engine as well as the ancient 1.3. Can't knock a car that was designed so long ago but is still doing the business.

As for the GF, get her to keep the car for a year or so more. That way she'll appreciate the new one so much more ...

Not being funny but I test drove a brand new 106 with my ex who was looking for a cheap car and it was dangerous. Brakes were horrendous. Worse car I have ever driven and my first car was a 1.2 Nova lol.

Sorry, but 3 mths after passing her test and she only does a few miles a day, I don't think a high performance car of any kind is particularly sensible. Unless you've taken out a good life assurance on her?
