Default Sold the scoob and bought a.........

53 Plate Seat Ibiza 1.9TDi Sport,130bhp

Pick it up Friday

The cost of fuel/running the scoob has driven me to go TDi

Very impressed on test drive, pulls really well

Six speed box as well

Will miss the Impreza though

The clutch thing varies, my cousin had his Leon 150 done and it slipped like made so he had it made adjustable, standard, slips a bit and slips a lot.

£700 for an uprated one, I think the 130's are a bit gentler on the clutch compared to the 150 with its bigger turbo but it largely depends on how its mapped and the state of the existing clutch.

I should really have bought a Fabia VRS or Ibiza.

Just dropped the scoob off and picked the Ibiza up

Was a heartbreaking moment after owning Scoobs for nearly 4 years

But the drive home was great, both quick and economical

well Impressed with my little Beezer

My Furby copes well with 180bhp and 312 torques. No clutch slip as yet, but the tires struggle. Spins them up exiting roundabouts in 3rd in the dry and even in 5th in the wet

Cheers bud

Really pleased with the car, continues to impress me

Took it for a spirited drive down some private country roads

Handlings quite precise and pulls really well in 3rd,loads of torque

The torque is the key. Mine outdrag'd a mate in a 300bhp Classic on the motorway before I had it tweeked, now it would eat him

The standard Skoda's have had clutch issues....
Jamesemt has the Ibiza and he had the re-map altered to reduce the torque at low revs, to avoid killing the clutch/flywheelcombo. but also had a bit extra added at the top so it pulls nicely towards the limiter.

Fine if it's dry ! Hmmmm if it's not !

You can get a 180 Fabia AFAIK the engine, turbo and other bits are the same, except for a larger air intake (which fits directly onto the Fab anyway) and the map.

Update

Still smiling

although a bit surprised at mpg around town averaging 35

Suppose it is a bit of a stop/start journey though and much better than the scoob

Got a remap planned which should see around 165/300

even at stock 130/230 is suprises quite a few cars

Had a Golf V5 and a Mini (think it was a cooper) left with a face

I get that with my diesel Mondeo aswell. The old 1.8 petrol I used to have did about 25 or less though, so its all relative.

My Furby does 39 when teaching, but rises to 45 when I drive, unless I get giddy

When I had a 1.2 Corsa [puke] it averaged under 25. So much for small car economy

I had a Seat Altea TDi with DSG gearbox, and boy was it fast. I had a Seat Cordoba too, which for a 1.6 was nippy too. They do build good cars. Just dont fill up with petrol lol

Tempted to go the VAG route myself mate.

Two of my sisters has Seats. One has the LCR and my younger sister has the 1.4 DAB ltd Sport.

I've seen some very nice Ibiza Cupra TDI or the Ibiza FR.
