A poll about my little pug...
Toying with an idea; which you already know as you'd have read the poll first.. but...
I'm tempted to paint my slightly tatty 106 matt black. Using hammerite. And Rollers.
It will help stop it rusting okay?
This will be topped off with some big white Nutty-Engineering.com urls, and after a conversation with a friend tonight who accused me of sounding like I'm being arty about it - a line of text at the bottom of the rear window saying "An ironic statement regarding the over-personalisation of an essentially functional mode of transport".
So far, 63% of voters on the 106 owners club, and 66% on Scoobycity are encouraging me to do it. Your opinions are valuable

"An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
And isn't it ironic... don't you think?"
No. I think it's damned unlucky and hammeriting the tatty 106 is novel and practical, but not ironic.

I used to work with a guy at the Police who had an Austin Metro painted Matt Black and it had been adorned with stickers provided by the RAF such as,
CAUTION - JET BLAST
Cant remember the exact things but they were authentic and it was about as cool as a Metro could ever get.

Like anyone would ever nick it.... it'd be the slowest getaway car ever.
I will admit I do actually quite like the little thing
As for the "irony" thing - it'd me more of an in-joke with a friend - but the car as a whole is actually very practical - as long as you don't need more than two seats - its got a massive load space with secure fastening in the back now

It's only the alternator bracket and belt that have any value anyway.
