Question CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT ENGINE CODE THIS VECTRA IS...?

It's a 2001 Y plate 1.8 16v LS - any idea what engine code it is XE1, XE etc, etc

probably the Z18XE but could be the X18XE1.

changeover from the X18XE1 to the Z18XE was late 2000 iirc

Can I ask why you need to know as most of the service parts are the same so shouldnt cause a issue.

look at the oil filter (front of engine to right of the downpipe) if its a spin on metal filter its a x18xe if its a paper element in a metal housing its a x18xe1 some have been converted over to spin on filter cos the housings crack sometimes there may still be a bar code sticker on the cam belt cover with number on or the main engine number is down by the filter but hard to read hope this helps

I need a cat on ebay and it says:

FITS XE and XEL ENGINES, THIS WILL NOT FIT MODELS WITH XE1 ENGINES
