volvo 440 problems
Hi all,
Been given a volvo 440 si 1.6 1995 for work, just a few problems with her at the moment..
1) Go to her in the morning when cold and she will start but when warm she will cut out and not re start,? checked for spark, NOTHING. Spark dissapeared..
2) Sometimes the remote c/l fob will not work. ( could this be linked to the spark loss )
3) Checked plugs and number 4 plug was dry and sooty..

1) Check the condition of the leads and coil? Check the connections for corrosion too.
2) New battery maybe? Will probably need re-sync'd too. (ignition on hold both buttons down and wait for it to lock/unlock).
3) does it use alot of fuel? Could be the CTS, they are only a 10nr and when they fail it tells the ECU the engine is cold and that compensates by adding more fuel. Running rich causes soot.
