Cool New runabout for the g/f Golf Gti 16v.

Managed to pick up a nice mk3 gti 16v yesterday. No faults apart from a little bubbling and a worn syncro in 3rd. leather, aircon, electric roof, heated seats, electric windows and mirrors, cd player etc, £1250, bargain of the year!

Drives quite well. Nowhere near the performance of a 320 bhp Impreza, but that's not what it was bought for. Unbelievable spec for the money. Insurance not too bad, £850 comp for a 22 year old female with 1 years no claims.

Not that much of a bargain. Mate just sold one the same spec, same age, no faults and FSH 66k for £850. Still, well done

Well, I've been looking extensively for 4 weeks for a car like this and I've not seen one in this condition, spec and age go for much less than £1500, indeed a few I was serious about went for more. Show me your mates listing/advert and I'll tell you if it ticks my boxes or not. Assuming your mate wasn't desperate to sell, and it was indeed the same spec, he well underpriced his car.

The only 16v's anywhere near £850 have been proper wrecks or very early cars.

He was stupid enough to put it on ebay with no reserve.

I'm only joking you, 1250 is still a bargain for a runout mk3 with aircon, leather etc etc.

I was going to say, bargain of the year whoever bought that. If it was the same spec and he had all the mots and paperwork etc he'd be looking at an easy £1800 plus for that mileage, and that's my valuation not a seller's one!
