Our accountant at work has one - so read into that what you will.
he loves it gets 40mpg+ on a run although he has the 140bhp model and not the 170bhp version, still a a very nice car though

She said it feels nice enough to drive, but not as lively as the current Cooper S.
Sounds like a good set up to give the power delivery and mpg, but a bit complex and expensive if anything goes wrong.

A friend who works for VW has had the 140 version and now has the 170 version, i've driven the 170 version and it was a great car to drive, however price wise it is almost the same as the GTi, and the trim spec etc is no where near as good, doesn't look anything special from the outside, where as the GTi looks a bit special.
Probably great as a company car, wouldn't want to own one as I would be concerned that as they get older they may start to go wrong, and it's going to get expensive with the turbo charger and supercharger on a little 1.4 engine.
