Integra Type R - DC2 - buying guide
Hi all
I am looking at buying an Integra Type R DC2 1.8i model. I know there was a buying guide in Evo a while ago but can anyone remember which edition ? Anyone fancy scanning it in for me ?
Does anyone on here have an ITR ? I am after a late one in pretty standard unfettled condition, preferrably in black, but it is proving hard to find !! I have registered on the ITR forum to find out some more info aswell.
What should I look out for when buying one ?
Dave

Owned a white DC2 (best colour!) a few years back. Great car, just loved it! The noise when in the VTEC zone will stay with me forever. Pretty fast car in it's day (circa 200bhp) however it will probably struggle againsy todays crop of hot hatches.

Great cars, I had one whichg had just done 60k miles and the engine was sweet andf very tight still, the guy who owned it beofre me did not VTEC it much.
Reverse gear can be a bit notchy, check that... Check the oil level etc...
IMO they can still live with today's hot catches as the chassis is so bloody good, they weight less than cvars today so power to weight is pretty good too, and once in the 'Zone' they are pretty good.

I always pop up on ITR threads, can't help myself - had mine over three years (a rarer black one ) and its still making me smile. Reliable, great chassis, decent brakes, and very reasonable running costs imo.
You can find most of the info you want on the DC2 forum tbh, suffice to say you should blag a ride or a drive of one, I think that'll decide things

Check for oil leaks and worn synchros (crunchy gearchanges at high revs). Thats about it.

druddle,
Where were you 3 weeks ago. Just sold my immaculate black X reg 2000 DC2. It lasted 18 hours on Pistonheads and was gone.
Get one with a good history and not too many miles (mine had 84K) and as above check for oil leaks and worn synchros.
The drivers seat bolster wears or rtaher it collapses but as long as it is not worn through you can get an upholsterer to sort it easy enough.
Best all round car I have owned. Brilliant handling.
