mr2 turbo or integra type R
Hi guys,
Just wanted a non biased view.
I used to own a Rev2 MR2 Turbo and loved it to pieces, but insurance was too much for me at the time so had to sell it.
Now looking at a new performance car and was thinking of getting another MR2 Turbo Rev3, but i was also thinking of the Integra Type R but have never driven one or any experience of owning one. Used to have a Civic 5dr 1.8 VTi and loved the screaming V-Tec.
Just wanted your opinion on these two cars, experiences or just your opinions.
Cheers guys, appreciate it.

I considered the DC5 Integra when moving on from the CTR, ended up with my current car though.
My mate has just bought this beast, its 5 years old but in mint condition, imported from Japan last month.
If i every downgrade from the STI I know where my money will go
Cheers

Awesome bits of kit. I'd be after a DC2 JDM Type R.
All lovely cars, will get a Scoob in the future, these will just tide me over 'til I can afford the one i really want.
Just not sure how MR2 Turbo and Integra compare.

Integra all the way. MR2 is a great car but cannot be pushed in confidence through the corners unless you are a really great driver AND on the track. The ITR is much more controllable on the limit and bloody good fun!

Tough one, I've owned a DC2 its awesome so I reckon a DC5 is probably as good if not better due to more flexibility in its engine. Always had a soft spot for MR2's (pop light type model). Reckon a turbo one would be great.....I suppose it probably comes down to a couple of things
1) How good a driver you are on a car's limit! (especially in the cornering/traction dept)
2) How important owning something different over the been there, done it and got the t-shirt.
Personally I think both cars you are considering would be a quality laugh given a good example of both. Probably comes down to straight line oomph and your ability to corner vs quality handling with a little more work reqd in the gear changing dept.
Personally I'd have either and enjoy

Handling on my old MR2 turbo was great in the dry, nipped round corners like nobodys business. In the wet it was ok. Real major time to be careful was when there was "green" on the road, you know, just when it was drizzling or first thing in the morning. Had some "fun", spun it a few times coming onto roundabouts at only 15mph ish, loved it, went sideways down a road once when car skipped out coming off a r'about.
I do miss it loads, especially as i'm now driving a FWD car Nice although she is, I miss the 2
