Can the Mini Cooper run flat tyres be repaired after a puncture?

I'm not sure but my advise would be to ditch them. My brother recently changed his OE runflat's for some toyo T1R's on his cooper s and the difference was totally unbelievable!!! It is like a different car the ride quality is so much better the steering is sharper the car turn's in easier and the road noise is reduced.Apparently the chassis was never developed to run on runflats in the first place.

Your insurance would only be invalid if the insurance company can prove that the change from the OE spec tyres was the direct cause of the accident.

So you would have to spec the car without runflat tyres then to avoid this issue?

I also read that changing to RFT's needs some major wheel and drive train issues sorting.

Our 520d Msport has RFT as standard on 18"s.
The ride was crap on the test drive so I opted for the 19" non RFT and it's a very comfy ride.
Overall though all the BMW's come with RFT's unless you get the bigger wheels.

And I get a spare wheel too...

IIRC i think the RFT have sensors in the rim to tell you of a loss of pressure...?

Zip. Both RFT and normal rims have the sensors in them.
