Audi Diesel Mapping - anyone know?
Been offered a 53 plate 1.9 A4 Avant 130BHP model.
My mother has a saloon 130 and it does have a fair bit of poke about it.
I've looked into mapping of the 130 model and it seems power can be upped to 160+ with lb ft upto 285 - thats more than my Impreza!?
This sound right? Looking at about £500 all in.

I had a Fabia vRS with effectively the same engine. I managed 160WHP and 300WLB/FT - it was brisk. It could tag along with a blob eye sti 40-100 ish which was amusing.

Yep, the PD130 goes to 170 - 180bhp and 290 - 300lb-ft easily with a remap.
There's also Revo, Jabba, Upsolute and a couple of other tuners which are often used.
Some people get clutch slip with this level of tune, others don't. Mappers can often tweak the map so the torque delivery is less "sudden" and more progressive.
I know a chap with a B5.5 Passat that was done by Upsolute for £200 (group buy), very pleased with it and the mapper tweaked it a couple of times for free to curb clutch slip.

I had a 2004 130bhp sport a4 avant, I had it revo'd to 180ish bhp, it drove well but all the power was in a very narrow band, pushing on a bit meant changing gears very quickly, I actually prefered the smooth standard tune tbh, I had the sps 1 switch to change it back and forth, I havent really helped cause I had mixed feeling towards the tune
