I prefer the Gallardo to that big *** Murcielargo.
The Gallardo is 4x4 which is a bonus with it packing 500bhp.
I think the Murcielargo is RWD but maybe im wrong!?

Both cars are great and the reason that I nearly crash every (work) day as I have to drive past a garage with various exotica sitting outside. Cars parked there have included; Gallardo, Murcielargo, various Countach's, Muria's, Ferrari's gallore!, Merc's, Bugatti's, Konesseggeieiseeses thingie etc. I should sue them for giving me a stiff neck! lol
Fo me though Lambo every time.

With the notable exception of the F40 Lambo's have always looked harder than their Ferrari contemporaries
With the possible exception of the 250GTO, Lambo's have always sounded meaner too

Both pale by comparison with an Interceptor SP (or any car with the Mopar 440 and six-pack)

I don't know, old Enzo churned some rough old pieces of sh!te out in amongst the gems and bringing it right up to date the 575M was universally derided as the worst handling ferrari in recent memory

Haven't driven a Lambo, but I have driven several Ferrari's and they are magical cars - the F430 Spider is to die for and has a sound track that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. After driving the 430 - I did 'get' the Ferrari. I'm sure there are a lot of people who buy them because it is almost the default choice, but that shouldn't take anything away from what is an amazing car.
I do have a mate of mine who is selling his Gallardo and upgrading to a Murcielago, so it will be interesting to see what he thinks.
However, as billythekid said - for sheer presence and bonkers value - I'd have a Zonda. Had a trip in one of those last year and it was magnificent. When I visited the factory we saw a lovely white / black RHD Zonda being built. Just seen it for sale on Pistonheads for £500K

360 is best compared to the Gallardo rather than the Murci.
No fair comparison, so it is no wonder that you found it wet, plus the 360 is a fair few years older mechanically.
Try comparing the 599 to the Murci.

Now they are owned by VAG they are now more focused (without stupid spoilers etc).

It's not really all about that though. I have a 360 and it's just such a joy to drive, you know, your EVO is probably a joy too so I don't think you can just compare in terms of speed. A ferrari is just a car I always wanted it, and to me it was worth paying up for. Having said that, the next car I buy to replace it would probably be a murcielago.... just something about that car I love.

Murcielago has proper doors

But for me it has to be old skool for either marque:

To decide between a Lambo Murcielago and a Gallardo would be very hard indeed. The Murcy is the real Lambo, but maybe too big for UK roads. But then to decide between a Gallardo & an F340 would be harder still.
I want them all.
Greedy me? Never

Surely that's the whole idea of the "supercar"..... that it can be a little bit tempermental. Not for everyday use.
Not denying the fact that the 997 is a fantastic car, but not really a supercar (IMHO), as it can be used everyday....
Just my take.
And fwiw, if I had the cash I couldn't choose!

Where is that can of worms?
Speed alone does not maketh a car super, so many different factors contribute.
997 is a super car, but not a supercar, it's a well made, quick version of a mass produced car.....

I disagree
A Countach LP500S is a supercar, but in reality its slower than a 997 Carerra S, which is not.
Its more than just speed. There's an intangible element too.
I'd argue that a Zonda is a supercar, but a Mclaren Mercedes SLR isn't.
I suspect the mclaren is faster.
At the end of the day, there is no absolute defenition, and its all highly subjective to the individual concerned.
Back on topic, I'd have a Gallardo with a sports exhaust (not pretty, but what a noise!) over the (frankly ugly 430) and a Murciellago (simply stunning in the metal) over a 599 (which, having walked past one again today just doesn't look right to me)
As an aside, a friend of mine who also happens to be gay once said to me when we were talking about cars, and with obvious reference to his sexuality "Both do it for me, but a Lamborghini is a "giver" whereas a Ferrari is a "taker""

And in most people's hands, probably the fastest car on the Planet, A to B.
That makes it pretty `Super` to me.

People certainly are willing to shell out huge amounts of cash on these unknown qualities of "soul" and "heritage"
I'd get a 997T any day unless a 599 was offered, but that's unlikely.
Why is it okay for a £100+K car to break down all the time and need more looking after than an 8 week old puppy?
