Where to get Hyabusa engine?
#1
I am considering building a hyabusa based Westfield. Where is a good place to get an engine secondhand? What is a fair price for one with gearbox, loom, and instruments?

Comes out every Wednesday. Look in the Spares section of Bike Mart.
You could probably even buy a brand new engine - some companies break new bikes for spares - e.g. Full Speed Apart, etc...
Cheers,
Ian.

The Hyabusa might be more expensive but its day and night compared to the firblade. I am looking to build an XTR2 see the news section of the Westfield web site http://www.westfield-sportscars.co.uk . I spoke to richard at westfield yeterday. He said they source their own engines for £6000 (new) and second hand you can get one between £2000 and £3000. Alternatively you could buy a running bike for £4000 and break it for parts yourself.
The XTR2 kit is £13000 inc VAT plus £1800 extra for adjustable dampers and roll bars and brembsport 4 pot brake kit. In addition the rear wing is £600 and you obviously need an engine and gearbox (and instruments) (and your own wheels). Apparently he is very confident about the new car and has entered it in the Nurburgring 24 hours for 2002.
