Lotus Esprit
My neighbour has a 1983 Esprit S3 2.2 (Non Turbo) with a starter that's broken. Anyone know of a source for a used part? He's beeen quoted £130 for a new part but is after a recon / used one. I reckon its a BL / Rover part, so £130 is a rip off. Thanks Bob

Not an expert I'm affraid, I think the engine was a lotus specific engine but there was some connection to Toyota for tramsmission & possibly other parts, so maybe electrical parts too ? to be honest £130 for a starter, with a warantee of a year would be OK for this kinda car IMHO.
theres bound to be help at the owners club website, classic car so the buffs are usually pretty helpful & no how to save cash !! ( you think a scoobies thirsty !! )
could try going to a back street electrical type place & see if its repairable, could be as simple as broken connection .......
