Seat Leon FR 2.0 TDI 170PS model
Hi Guys
Took a Seat Leon FR out for a test drive at the weekend and it had the 2.0 TDI 170 PS engine fitted and I have to say I was very impressed. Plenty of poke for real world driving yet still decent on the MPG.
Anyone got any comments on the new generation Leon they'd like to share. Also, as this engine is a VAG unit I'd imagine its going to be quite easy to get chipped to be made any better, anyone know much about this engine or can point me in the direction of a forum on this.
Cheers

Im fairly sure all the tuners have withdrawn remaps for the 170PS VAG units (Superchips certainly did) as the particulate filters were catching fire
Might be sorted now though...
Leon is a craking Car apart from the interior...

as above there is a filter on these that catches soot then slowly burns it off.but when chipped with the extra soot there's a chance of it setting the car on fire.....or so a mate i know whos bought a leon told me.he bought the ref sport 140 with the btcc kit and had it chipped, has around 190bhp safely as they don't have the extra filter plus it does look the part as well.

As above. Had a passenger ride in an FR TDi 170 and the engine seems a cracker. The interior is awful however, hard plastics everywhere which is obviously where some of the savings were made over the Golf. Seems to be reasonably well equipped though, dual zone climate as standard and even get the Hi-Line computer which is an extra on the Golf.
