High mileage mondeo's good or bad?
Hi all
I'm looking to sell my 1.8vti-s civic and replace it with a larger more comfortable family car as my fiance is pregnant.
So far i've been looking for a primera sport, a toledo or possibly an avensis (would need bigger wheels though!). But i have stumbled across an x reg 2.0lt zetec for £1600, it looks tidy but has 137k, this is a little higher than i was looking for but fit's my budget perfectly, i only have 2k to spend.
Could anyone give me any opinions on high mileage mk3 mondeo's and if I should keep away from them.
Just to confirm - I am talking about the new shape mk3 mondeo not the old zetec.
Regards
Mark

Best person to ask is a Taxi driver, there are many Mondeo taxis with far in excess of this mileage in regular use.
Personally would not go near a car with this mileage for any money, bought the older Mondeo with 74k on the clock and had nothing but problems, including having to completely replace the engine at a cost of over £700

as long its been looked after it should run for ever. especially the new shape as they are much better build qulaity than the old ones.
one of my first company cars was a hand me down 96 mondeo 1.8lx with 202k on the clock. have to say that other than the dents it ran sweet as a nut and was still comfy to sit in. surprising for a ford but a good mondeo should last a long time.
