Default Aaaaahh FFS...Tiff's gone and given him ammo.

Audi R8 - Fifth Gear tonight.

Tiff liked it and it seemed to do very well on both road and track.

Although.......he did say if it was his money, he'd be buying an Aston!

Cant let one 'Character' put you off entire brand of fairly decent cars.

There's no doubt that it's a good car though......

Doesn't matter how much a certain marque-admirer bleats on about them, it still wont change how people perceive him

Is it possible that AL is a mole from BMW, designed to put us off Audis for life?

If so, he's smarter than I thought...

That R8 looked and sounded amazing. I would struggle to decided between a porka and an R8 - and I am a major Porsche fan!

It was specc'd up and as Tiff said....... a few thousand for ceramic brakes, Ł1.5 k for the suspension, ??? for the B&O Ice system, a few 100 for a air freshener. Typical Audi really.

You can't be a major porsche fan or you'd never have made that comment mein freund

No matter how good the R8 is, its never gonna steal die hard customers from the 911

IMHO of course

My money would go on a 911 over the R8 without question.

The 911 has years and years of pedigree and constant development behind it.

They also happen to look the dogs danglies and go like sh*t of a stick.

R8 looks better and is more exclusive. 911's are a bit like RR sports and 3 series BMW's in london. Every man and their dog has got one.

November 2008 delivery.

Black with Silver Fins. Manual gear box, magnetic ride, and a few other choice options.

I might not get to own it (old mans) but I'll at least get to flog it silly every now and then.

I'd have the R8 over the Porsche 911.

The R8 burns well

Just look at the scorched tarmac at Brunchen 8)

Think I'd have the 911 myself.....

I'd have AM V8 Vantage over the R8 and Porsche (not that I have Ł80K to spend on a car!) or the Maserati Gran Turismo when it comes out and is for Ł80k. They may not be the fastest or as powerful as the R8, but there's more to a car than speed and performance figures and IMO look more pleasing to the eye that either the R8 or the Porsche.

LOL - you daft muppet

You're preaching to the converted
I'm just stating that your percievable blinkered enthusiasm isn't appreciated by those on a competing marque's forum!!

I think it's absolutely stunning motor. A bit pricey, but hey. Check out the price list:

Dont get me wrong I am a mega Audi fan but....

I think its dramatic but ugly exterior wise - hopefully better in the flesh. Interior looks superb though. Sameish alloys as RS4 are a bit of a let down.

Otherwise should have been badged as a Lamborghini

Nice bit of engineering, but it looks like a TT on steroids IMO. When you've got that sort of money to spend on a car there's quite a lot of choice out there, so you'd have to be pretty committed.

Thumbs up

The R8 is the first car I've really wanted to own for a while. I think it looks fantastic. I'm sure it will drive great and the interior will be very good.

The New Nissan GT-R might be another option though
