Default Focus RS, future classic?

What do you reckon? I want to change the car for something long term that won't drop value like a stone (or a subaru! )

Series 1 Elises seem to be a good bet but trying to gauge it's manliness is an issue!

Clio V6s don't seem to get given away which is a shame as I think they look great!

I hope not..............

Only because I sold mine for a Scoob.

Fantastic car. There's one near me and they still look good.

Think the fact it doesn't have 4WD will mean it will never be lusted after like the Escort Cosworth. For the looks too.

A Mark II 4WD Focus RS though would be a different matter. Waiting till next year for Ford to hopefully announce that they're building one, otherwise it'll be a S3, Evo X or a secong hand Porker for me.

Think it will be one of those cars that will be famous what what it could have been....

Still would like one, despite driving something MUCH more powerful (not a Scoob either )

It has the right ingredients: underrated, unloved in it's lifetime. Still a way to fall yet, I reckon but long term they'll hold up. Not in the Cossie (3dr or Escort) league, though.

Classic ? From a personal note I think yes, as they have some great qualities, but, many cars I considered to be in a similar league seem to be had for silly money now.

What is a classic ?

I think theres a few grand to drop for them yet, simply due to the new/newish cars you can buy for the 12-15k they are still going for.

Once they get to the 8-9k mark i dont think they will fall much further especially for ones in good condition, full service and well looked after.

Its a Ford RS.

For that reason alone it will be a future classic.

As you've considered the elise then its gotta be an S1 Exige

Solves your manliness issue and is far nicer than a standard elise

I am considering one myself although I'm concerned about losing the sheer grunt of a 355bhp newage

The missus and I have been thinking about chopping my car (Saab Aero) and hers (a Smart) for something approx half way between the two in size terms. After looking at A3s I had the thought about these, one thing that's putting me off is that they are awfully dear - £14.5 for a 4yo from an independent dealer near me....
