Such simple cars, about as cheap as it gets. Insurance dirt cheap (I pay £149 fully comp, 33 yrs old etc.). A lot can be DIY or easy for a mechanic to do (everything is accessible so labour charges low etc.) I can actually change the front brake pads without taking the wheel off!!
Don't buy new as both Cat and westie are overpriced new, get used one that's not been used much or just built and save loads. Once a year or two old, will hardly depreciate. £8-£15k will get you a cracker but do your homework. Some are built very well, some aren't. some are factory built too but a well done 'home' built are sometimes better.
