Just a little note, I know its not strictly scooby related but I have just receieved the specs and prices for the new Toyota Corolla T Sport, and thought it might be of interest.

£15,495, 189 bhp, 1798cc, 6-speed gearbox, 16-inch alloys, Group 14 insurance.

Basically the engine and gearbox out of the Celica stuffed into a Civic look a like body, and priced £500 cheaper, though its the same price as a Clio 172.

Took a T sport for a test drive yesterday... To get any performance you need to drive round above 6000 rpm. Below that it's painfully slow compared to the scoob...

Have driven a Type R - what a fantastic motor!! Looks and goes better than a T-Sport and a couple of sites are now selling new UK spec Type R's for around 13,000.

Hopefully that's the 'T' Sport you're talking aboubt Matt? The Civic is definitely NOT a letdown in the performance department!

Hmmm, not driven a T Sport but read several test and its been slated in every one. Vtech band is too narrow for the gearing which means on most gearchanges it drops out of the power band.
Also the handling is soft and the steering numb which is totaly out of charachter with the engine.

Didn't even bother with a test drive in it as I found the Civic TypeR's power delivery too frantic for me.

I ended up with an Alfa Selespeed with VVT, you can feel it coming in at around 3500rpm but it redlines at 7000rpm only 155bhp but in 85% of on road driving I found it felt more powerful than the Civic, when the Civic comes on cam though it is awesome.

Wink

Plus there's mods coming online for the Type-R now

I've just had a BMC Carbon Fibre Induction kit fitted. You can actually hear the VTEC cut over now, sounds like a touring car
