RS6
Licence loser mate ;-) A friend of mine had an RS4 which picked up speed with such a lack of fuss that it was surreal and this one is 450BHP v his 380BHP. Was a bit soft in the turns but overall a really nice, comfortable GT car.

Just recently sold mine for an M5.

Personally I wouldn't go for Avus Silver, are you dead set on that colour?
Also £36k for 43,000 miles is slightly steep. Get them down to £32k max. I paid less than 36 for one with 30k miles and that was months ago.
Also listen for clonking from the suspension and a squirming feel over bumps / around corners. The DRC suspension is notorious and my whole suspension was replaced at 40k. I assume it will have 1 year warranty?
Otherwise they are bulletproof and a great car to own, just don't expect fireworks in the bends to match those you get on the straights!

Will have 1 year audi warranty as it's a main dealer.
Not particulary set on the colour, but if the price is right.......
Will test drive the car but happy to travel UK wide for the rigtht car at the right price, I travel to London weekly anyway.

Thanks Edcase, I have been reading up on RS246 so aware of the Susp issue.

I didn't, but Misano red is very hard to find, and it ticked all my boxes including the rare 'hi-tech' seat finish:

It is such a special car, it seemed a shame to 'hide' it in the light silver. Obviously it boils down to personal tastes, see what you think in the metal.
As I say that price is definitely high, make sure tyres and brakes are as-new and no kerbing on the wheels, brakes in particular are incredibly expensive. (1-2k)

Don't use the brakes to much, discs and pads are very expenisve to replace as is the cam belt, my mate got charged 1500 quid for the cam belt swop !!
Amazing car though we chased two bikes back from the lakes they kept looking behind as we sat behind them @ 140. They could not belive an estate was keeping up with them.
His is chipped with a full stainless system, it runs at about 500 brake. He says it's neally as quick as his TVR Cerbera.

By way of comparison in December I was bid £30k for my mint 04 plate 21k mile RS6 avant, and most dealers weren't interested at all. So I doubt they paid more than £26k tops for that one, though they may have had to spend a couple of £k on prepping....so haggle hard.

Sold my RS6 saloon quite recently as I got a new RS4. Loved the RS6 (had it re-mapped and a Milltek exhaust and it was rather swift (not too far off my previous Twin Turbo 911!) It felt quicker (I think) than my RS4 although I am still "running it in". Milltek going on tomorrow.
Think you will enjoy the RS6 a lot!

thanks for all the comments everyone.
Phil, looks nice, like the colour.
I have decided that I am definatley not going to buy tomorrow and no matter how may times I tell myself this I am not 100% convinced tha I can stop the cheque book coming out .
I feel the price will be only thing holding me back tomorrow, I reckon the car I will be testing is about 5-6k overpriced and I can't see the dealer knocking this much off, but you never know.
There appears to be similar spec / mileage cars available in England for around the 30k mark.
Dealer just called and he has an RS4 in as well so I may take that out for a spin.
Let you know on monday how I get on, but got a feeling I will not have managed to wipe the smile off my face by then

I personally love RS6's .......... but consider
1) Lack of driver feedback but quick in a straight line
2) Saucy maintenance costs
3) Awful (AWFUL) depreciation
Go in with your eyes open - but enjoy it otherwise

It has 100bhp more than a current M3, although it's a bit heavier. Is it dramatically faster ? And does it understeer like a Scoob ?
Anyway, 450bhp, Audi build quality..........sounds excellent. Have fun mate !

'Audi build quality'....? I think this is highly overrated TBH. I have a new shape A6 and it's the worst car I've had - electrical gremlins, loose trim (inside and out) and it's had 3 clutches/flywheels in just over 40k miles. Audi were also 22nd in a reliability report listed in WhatCar a few months back and the list only went to 26...
RS6 is a fabulous car and I'd love one but I'm just glad that the Audi in my life is paid for by the company and not me (other than tax!) Despite loving the looks of most modern Audi's I won't touch another in future. BMW are far better as a German-solidly-built-smart-car.
