Question 1998 Mundeo 1.8TD Lx info please

Looking at buying one of these

Any ideas of MPG
What to look out for

What are they like to drive

This one has 110K miles on the clock FSH and £1000.00ono
Thoughts please

You can have mine if you want?

i bought one and not sure if its meant to be like this but my god its soooo slow - no i mean really really slow.

about 45mpg - 50 mpg on a run handling and ride is ok though


Mines done 136k - yours for 300 quid

If dead slow then no good, i will be doing 35 miles motorway and 22 miles backroads each way each day so need something with a bit of oooph

Thanks for that, i think i am gonna have a look at it tomorrow, do not start my new job until next Monday so a run out is just the ticket.

checked on a major service cost for the VW and quoted 350.00 for a full service from Tyres Northampton, this includesl cambelt (which is supposed to be a bugger to do) , glow plugs, filters and oil (if it needs it), which does not seem too bad.

The VW is unassuming and anonymous which suits me just fine!

I used to have a 94 mondeo deisel and yes-so slow-not to bad when moving, but the pull off from lights in first gear-my god, a push bike would out accelerate it , you can in a matter off 30 seconds on a mk1 not sure on mk2 turn up the boost but its still very slow then lol-cheap as chips to run tho
