Default E39 M5 with Hayward and Scott Exhaust

YouTube - E39 M5 with H&S Exhaust at Bedford Autodrome

Will add some in-car sound shortly. I think you will agree it's an improvement from the muted version on the standard car!

Unfortunately you just get the noise on the vid, not the character and detailed richness you get when driving it. The downside is a stick neck from windchill as the window is constantly half way down at the moment!

Also huge credit to H&S, what a genuinely professional and nice bunch!

Ive always loved e39 M5s, have had to make do with a 525d sport for the time being though!!

Bet the exhaust sounds sensational through a long tunnel!

Actually it verges on the ridiculous in really enclosed tunnels (like most of the ones I use crossing the Thames )

It makes other people panic and wonder what the hell is happening. I'm only going to do it in future if its clear as I'm genuinely worried it will one day cause an accident

I know what you mean, my cousin is lucky enough to own a Ferrari 360 spider, and even with its standard exhaust it is amazing through tunnels, you can see the look of horror on peoples faces when you bury the pedal!!I can only wish.......!!

I sat next to a guy on clerkenwell road the other week with Tubi's on a 360 Spider, and I have to say although I thought it sounded nice, its was so unbelievably loud at any revs, people were just looking at him in universal disgust!

Yeah, all sorted, it was apparently more of a 'cooling off' than a ban.

Only just mind...it failed the static. The trick is not to give it WOT past the sensors when going around the track
