Default Any experts on SD memory in Audis (RS4 specifically)??

Having bought 2 x 4GB SD memory cards, then got a reader which was compatable with their large size to format them, I am STILL having problems with them.
I now have one card which has about 10 albums in individual sub folders which works ( although car states that it is a 392 megabyte card).
However, the other card, I have formatted and added individual tracks (about 30 or so) and the RS4 does not recognise the card is there.
Any help gratefully received

Can the device in the car read high density SD cards? Id try 512MB; 1GB and 2GB media in turn to see if the issue is replicated. You may find that SD cards with a 2GB capacity are the largest that will work correctly.

GC8,
I would agree with your logic IF the car did not recognise and play the other card.
The one it is not recognising is a SanDisk (better quality than the other one) and is recognised on the PC no problem!

this MAY soud like a daft question, but have you reformatted the SanDisk one?

I personally find that the problems I experience with pre-formatted cards go away if I reformat the card.....

Just a suggestion...

Id agree with Dan. If you are certain that the device in the Audi can read high capacity SD media, then Id reformat the media (ideally in the device that is going to read it, if thats possible).

But here is the problem! I have formatted 2 x SD cards (4 GB ) and both work on my PC , but only one will work in either of the 2 SD slots in the Audi ( neither card has that many files on them yet).. So the Audi is reading and working with a 4gb card!!!

Wrong, I've got 4gb Sandisk ones and they work fine. Basically the limit is 512 files/folders per card (thats total, not 512 of each). The RNSE doesn't seem to like strange characters in the file names either such as brackets, full stops, commas, appostrophies etc etc and high speed cards work way better than the normal ones.
