Have had auto & now have 500hp manual, forget the auto tbh, manual is far better car. Deadly in this weather too unless you have traction control. Also an absolute bitch to work on, even the simplest jobs are a nightmare.
Above all that they are an awesome car to drive, very comfy, very powerful, if you have a bad one they can be a serious money pit. I know 2 people that have spent 10k & 15k just getting the engine repaired

depends how much of a "bargain" it is though, a cheap 300ZX could end up being a massive money pit!
however if it's rwd turbo thrills with a Nissan badge you're after than a 200SX is probably a better option.
cheap to buy, cheap to run, cheap to insure, good on fuel, realiable, easy to work on if something does go wrong, parts are readily available & inexpensive, great tuning potential, etc...
the 300ZX is a lot heavier than the 200SX as well, compared to the S14/14a we're talking well over 300kg difference here!

Good build quality but getting long in the tooth now, it costs a lot to maintain so if the previous owner has skimped on the servicing you could be in for some serious expenditure.

reason i fancy the 300zx over the 200sx is the 200sx is just too common now every would be drfiter has one plus they dont come with 300bhp as standard and twin tubbys and cant be tuned to about 450-500 BHP as easily . plus i love the T-bar roof even if it is a tad hair dresser the rest of the car is tough enough tto get away with it imho DONT YOU THINK? BARGAIN PRICE ? WOULD YOU SAY £550 FOR ONE IMPORT NEEding a new turbo is a good price ?

To get 450hp you'll need - bigger turbos, injectors, decat, intercoolers, induction kit, boost controller & a chip I would have thought. Not easy or cheap to tune as you need 2 of everything.
Also engine out to replace turbos.

The box is the ignition amplifier If I recall correctly., the connections inside it break down over time due to the boxes poor position in the engine bay.
The new units you buy now to replace faulty ones dont break again.

The 300ZX has 276bhp as standard (not 300bhp), they are very heavy though, 1590kg is a lot of weight to lug about and if you think that it's cheap & easy to get 450-500bhp from the 300ZX then you're kidding yourself...
But it sounds cheap enough, get it bought
