MPG is excellent - certainly better than a Scoob,

a remap i.e. REVO etc. will see 265-275'ish with an exhaust - 300 hmm maybe looking at a bigger turbo their mate and your looking £££££££££££ for that.

With a remap youll get 270ish, exhaust, decat/sport cat and filter not adding much either, youll struggle to pass 280 without a new turbo.

mpg is very good, given the weight, 4wd(some of the time), and power output.

2002+ facelift 225bhp are insurance group 18
2001 facelift 210bhp are insurance group 17, so might save a bit there, if you go for this one.
pre 2001 non-facelift, not as nice get a facelift

Pros.
- Great all round car, comfortable on the motorway, sedate in and around town, great for an A road blast
- Great build quality, superb interior
- mpg
- looks, a personal thing i know but i love the look of them.
- 270bhp for £500

Cons.
- Steering, its as numb as it comes, but this doesnt hamper a good A road blast.
- 2nd to 3rd gear synchro problems, bit hit and miss, some have problems at 20-30k others running 100K plus miles with no problems. Rev to near the limiter in 2nd gear and change quickly to 3rd gear if it crunches the synchro is worn.
- Coilpacks wont be an issue, they will have either been replaced or were not affected by the dodgy batch.
- rear seating is very cosy, hard to get in and out of due to the recaro seats too.
