You are so right. I have lost about £30K in depreciation on cars in the last 5 years and it makes me sick. Current 'main' car is on a lease which expires in May 2007. After that it will be economy motoring all the way

I loved the fact that it didnt matter if I locked it or not, just the fact that I could leave it anywhere and the only risk would be that I came back to find a "Police Aware" sticker on it!

Best cheap runner for me was a £300 MK3 Golf 1.8L.... bomb proof.... never went wrong and spent more on Optimax & Octane in a month than it cost to buy... I love cheap motoring
