Had one a while back, was a good car but not well thought of generally there is a few good sites that can give you better advice, there are front suspension bushes that are very expensive to replace(they all need them sometime)

4ndy from Sheffield has one as a track day car, which is an odd choice. But PM the guy

I had one before my Scoob. Solidly built and quite good handling, though not as sharp or as grippy as the scoob. As wheelshop says, be very careful about getting front suspension lower arms checked out - they cost about £300 per side plus labour to fix Symptoms are clunks and clonks over uneven road surfaces, vague steering and squirming under braking.
If you're buying a higher mileage car (over 50,000) make sure that they've been changed and that the seller has receipts as proof. If not, use this as haggling point
Engines are inherently strong if left unmodified, but a lot of owners fit boost controllers for a cheap power upgrade. Up to 1.1bar is OK - if they've been using any more than this, walk away. Best option is totally unmolested example. With careful exhaust/downpipe and boost mods, you can get 280-290 bhp; above 300bhp and you're into uprating the internals.
Overall, it's a good car and the stealth factor is fun - most people don't have a clue what they are so are rather surprised when you leave them for dead The GT4OC bunch are really friendly too. However, parts are expensive and Mr T likes to bend you over and shaft you handsomely for the priviledge!!
