Can't say I've timed mine or anything, but the pull 60+ is much better than my MY03 WRX PPP by a big margin. On a strip () 100+ in 5th still puts you back in your seat, in the WRX the fun was over.

Should be better than a wrx etc. because of the engine capacity.
Personally i've come across one on a slip road from approx 30 - 90mph, thought it would leave me by a good margin (me MY01 classic) - stayed stuck to its bumper. This suprised me but i think after that speed it would of started to pull a good distance, sounded real good to on full chat i could hear it over my own motor (prodrive back box).
Nice motors i'd have one.

Maybe, but when you have crashed one at 120mph and walked away you say thanks for that crash protection. If you are going to use a car in anger every day thats important, or it is to me. And 1525kg is not that heavy these days. the Sti is 1495kg, 30kg less.

Depends what you mean by well modded, anythings possible of course. The 350z is no supercar, but its comfortable, fun, classy (relatively, IMO), makes the right noises and has lots of grunt.

People have different views on being 'left'. I know a 911 Turbo will leave a 350Z along a duel carriageway lol that was fun

didn't read the port correctly, but i was right with the 0-100 14.5 seconds, so against fq340 or a decent spec'd scoob the bit after 100 would be accademic as out of your average slow corner, an evo would be 3 seconds in front at 100 and it would be unlikley the 350z would gain it back...

I loved my test drive in a 350Z. Just a different compromise than other cars, but a damn good one in so many ways. Felt torquier low down and sounded nicer than the M3. Creamy engine. Nice damping. Short on luggage space/practicality. Just RWD doesn't suit Scottish weather IMHO.

They look fantastic cars. I met one on the motorway and was surprised my standard wrx stuck with it, from the engine note the 350 was trying.
I wonder if the weight has something to do with it?

The 350z is a 2 seater sports car, is the M3 ? Not last time I looked. If you're trying to make comparisons at least make the effort to make them like for like please.

They are quite comparable though except the number of seats. Similar weight, both six cyl and approx 10% apart on capacity and power, both RWD, both LSD, both coupes. The small power loss was more than made up for on my local B-roads by the compliance that the 350Z had over the M3. The steering had better feel on the 350Z too I didn't like my M3.

Good points, well made John. Certainly better than the previous shallow, unfounded comment. If I'd have wanted a 4 seater with a boot, the M3 would be top of the list, for what I wanted it didn't fit into the same category.

I'd love an M3, I think I could even get away with visiting customers in it. Alas its a bit out of my budget.
I think an RS version of the 350Z would be well received indeed, 80-100kgs lighter with the new 310bhp 2007 engine.
