Can you make alterations to a new car on finance?
Never bought a car on finance (of any sort), so I don't know the details.
If I want to buy a brand new car using a finance package of some sort (no idea: bank loan, HP, PCP, lease - me fick), am I allowed to make irreversible alterations to it, eg respray (at my cost, natch)? Or is it somehow the property of the finance institution until I've paid it all off, and they're allowed to veto such a change?
Thanks.

Depends on the finance...
If you get a bank loan that is not connected to the car, you can spend the money on what you like.
If its PCP, the finance company has a share in the car (they are off setting the future value, after all). My PCP on a MK4 Golf wouldn't even let me change the stereo....although how would they know in reality?
Best loan rates will always be with a bank loan fwiw...
