Default Any STi owners gone to EVO 8 - 4W drifting question

Had the EVO8 (FQ300) for a month now, and used to have a few scoobs.

I had an S2000 inbetween so my memory of driving the scoob is a little poor!

I seem to remember being able to fire the STi (5) into a roundabout and lifting off would produce a nice controllable drift.

Cant seem to do it in the EVO. It grips well, then the back seems to come round, where the STi would let all 4 wheels drift, which I preferred.

Need some space and time to play with it really, but has anyone else noticed the difference?

You need to keep the power on mate or the AYC doesn't work. On damp roads through a second gear roundabout I can 4 wheel drift to the straight ahead quite easily, in the dry I'm afraid I'm not prepared on public roads to see what speed I'd have to do to get the same result!!!! From memory my classic seemed to understeer far more easily, and that was on prodrive shocks and springs!

I'd have thought you'd be used to and prefer a rwd style drift?

Thanks Misty. Tried forcing it with the power on and its still tail happy! I think watching some of the Top Gear vids, the car is not going to fully unstick as readily as the scoob. It would seem you have to be extremely aggressive to launch it into a drift.

Yup I am used to it Kenny, and it feels like a RWD car a lot of the time. Its just not what I fully expected! Will have to keep playing with it Its being Bob'd on Sunday

Hi Mark , Got yourself an Evo then !, as much as I love my S2000, I have a urge to get an Evo with lots of BHP , I have an every day hack so running cost are not an issue, what do you think of yours ?
