buying my mates 325 ci convertable
My mates got a 51 plate topaz blue 325i a/t with beige leather and a hard top.
Hes owned it from new and serviced it when the service light comes on.
Not the sort of person who would change a tyre or lift the bonnet, but recently the oil light came on,so being the person he is he got mineral oil and put that in.Its now over due a service by 4500 miles and hes lost interest in the car after 5 years (and recently had a child) so wants to sell it.
The car is pretty decent condition apart from a dent on both doors,a scuff on both bumpers, scratches on the hard top, dirty seats (not ripped) carpet in need of a serious clean.
It also need a plastic bag scraped away from the exhaust and new tyres.
hes offered it to me for £12000 without servicing it (as it is) with 67k miles,it requires an inspection 2 at the moment....
What do you guys think?
worth it or not?

This is what Glass's quote
Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition:
£13800
Average condition:
£12600
Below average condition:
£11150
For £12,000, with all that damage and hassle to get clean, you;d be overpaying in my book, as trading it in would devalue it with the two dents to be repaired, scuffs to be removed etc. plus a major service. £10k would be nearer given the work you have to do to it...

Also, remember an Inspection 2 at a BMW dealership will easily cost you £500-700...maybe more if work has been skimped....even an indy will charge about £300-400.......
