Looks like it needs finishing off to me... with conversions like this it is always difficult to know what the car is going to be like reliability wise. Could be something going wrong on that every few hundred miles... the CSL is an awsome car and can do plenty with the standard lump - I do wonder if this was all really necessary.

Dont assume that since its a V8 its a heavier engine
540i box from what i remember is the same as an M5's
This car brings a tear to my eye, to a normal M3 yes yes yes but a CSL nooo!

Not really a useable car is it, for a start it's like a rally car will all the stuff in the boot and roll cage.
A tuning firm did this a few years back it was in Performance BMW, it was the previous shape [E36?]. They got an M3 replaced the engine with an M5 engine then the M3 engine they were left with they went and stuck in a compact [spelling] and added all the M3 touches to that.

I dont see why it shouldnt drive ok, theres not too much difference in weight. BMW did make an M3 with an M5 engine anyway.

500 bhp ?
Wheres the dyno plot to proove the figures, as its a possibility that you end up with a car thats not that much quicker than it would be with the normal engine in place.
Also the 1000 bhp M3 turbo, did anyone notice the bit that said
'Boost pressure: 2.1 bar (30 psi)'
I am no turbo expert but thats a lot of boost and 1000 hp if its true is three times the units original output, amazing but probably either unreliable, unusable or both.

The V8 version of the M5 engine is 400bhp (well actually there are 2 versions a 394bhp version and 400bhp version).
Given that a standard CSL is 360bhp (1384Kg) and will weigh a good 100kg less (maybe less still) than this car I think a standard CSL is a better buy.
All IMVHO of course.
