Default 307 Particle filter

Can't believe that the Peugeot kiddy carrier is going to cost around £600 for a replacement particle filter on the exhaust system and a regeneration fluid top up.
Seem's there is a price to pay for clean emmisions with this clean deisel emmision system.
Anyone had any experience with this matter ?

How old is the car? I thought the latest ones could do 80K+ miles before needing attention ...?

Hi
The car is 2003 with 80,000 miles. I believe that these filters require replacement around this time but did not expect it to cost so much.
I think the later generation lasts longer.

Don't replace it.

It's not a necessity to have on a car of its age so loose it and save your money.

I think all that will happen by NOT replacing it is you will get an emissions warning light or similar .... I don't believe it will put the engine into limp mode or anything like that.
