peugeot 406 cambelt snap
Hi All,
had the unfortunate experience of my cambelt on my 1997 R reg 1.8LX 406 snapping today......anyone had this happen on their 406? Any idea of what damage may be done and approximate repair costs please?
Many thanks,
Tim

Oh valves will be knackered possably the head?
It will need to be stripped really for a mechanic to see what damage has been done but expect a decent sized bill possably 400 quid+

My 2nd 406 V6 snapped its belt. The car was worth around 2k and having asked around and having had previous experience of taking the heads off my blown up green v6 I concluded it would not be cost effective to repair and sold it as a non-runner to a guy with the mechanical know how to do the work in his weekends. You car might be different though as you have one head and it's probably easier to get at.
