Which Diesel to buy?
Hi,
I will have around 3-4.5k to spend on a diesel motor, as i will be doing 500 miles a week, mainly motorway driving. (1 hour drive each way to work.)
Current car: Fiat Brava 1.4. Suprising good, 43mpg, but getting on a bit.
It needs to be comfy, fun-ish, good MPG, and crusie at 70-90 mph. Looks are important, and I want to feel a little special driving it if possible! The newer the better- sub 60,000 miles a bonus.
Shortlist:
MG Zr/Zs 2litre turbo diesel. 105bhp/115bhp. Easily in the price range.
306 HDI medrian. 90 bhp- Again easy in the criteria.
VW bora/Passet- lower engined ones, higher miles-4k a stretch for a good one.
Nissan Primera- ok lacks most the criteria, but is new, cheap(sub 2k) and does the job.
Any comments welcome, or suggestions. I am 22 so anythink too boring will top me over the edge in a years time
