mk 3 golf gti
ive just been to view a mk 3 golf gti 8v on behalf of my in laws. what suprised me is the tiny single tailpipe it had which was apparantly new. i thought they all has a twin tailpipe. anybody shed any light.
also there was lots of marks to the nearside panels obviously caused by being driven close to bushes and trees etc. none of them seemed to scratch the paintwork and couldnt be felt under touch but can these be removed easily and if so what with. its a metalic storm grey colour.
thanks in advance. bob

I got an 8valve p/x of a Volvo T5 i had. Absolute horrible car to drive. Got these back lights for it and big improvement. The cars themselves look well though.. And yes should be twin pipe.

My old GTI 8v has just sailed past 250,000 miles (friend of a friend now has it) and has still never needed anything doing to it other than servicing/wear and tear items. Good solid cars The paint finish/quality is miles ahead of anything japanese and a lot better than current/modern VWs too

They go on forever if looked after i reckon. As long as you don't see them as a sporty car and just a solid, reliable, well specced, comfy hatch then they're hard to beat for vfm with prices what they are now. Just sold my MK V GTI as couldn't see the point of a £20K car to just go to work and back in and will probably buy another MK III now
