Current Astra problem ...
Yeah yeah I know but it is the wife's company motor.
1.7CDTI SRI with an interesting problem garage can't solve.
Everytime the car is started and hits approx 15mph a loud clonking can be heard for a couple of secs (similar to a stone in the wheel arch) and after it has done it once it never does it again, until it is started again and driven upto 15mph. The gear makes no difference neither does temp.
Garage has so far replaced one driveshaft and the power steering pump and both times claimed to be successful yet as soon as she drives it the noise is back. Happens to all who drive it.
Any ideas ??
Thanks

Cheers guys, the dealer took out another SRI and it didn't make the clonk - before being taking out he did say "they all do that" at which point I kind of knew he didn't know diddly. Surely ABS is activated at lower speed than that or am I missing the point ??
The car seems to run fine despite the clonk and as far as I can tell all electronic gizmos seem to work OK.

The new astras do make a slight sound when first setting off, A few moments after turning the car on, and it is the ABS coming on. But it should be very quiet though defo not clunk, and not at a certain speed.
