Scoobies gone - what now?
I've sold the Forester and need a replacement quick. Budget is monthly rather than cost of car.
I'm considering:
Leon FR TD - but have only had a chance to test drive the 140BHP Leon Reference Sport
BMW 1 series - been offered a 120d MSport for £18,500 and a 130i MSport for £21,000. I know they aren't everyone's cup of tea but space in the back is good enough for the kids.
Octavia VRS - About £16,500 for decent specced demonstrator. Anyone know whether the Estates are worth buying or will people be looking for hatchbacks when I come to part-ex in a couple of years.
Discounted a Focus ST and RenaultSport Megane 225.
Any experiences of the cars above?
Gavin

I'd love a VX220 but in no uncertain terms I've been told no. The 130 Msport is touch and go due to the fuel consumption.

I purchased a 130iMsport a couple of months back - price was very similar.
Absolutly brilliant car, engine is so nice and packs a serious punch over 4krpm, had it off the clock (where law permitted..) and was solid as a rock. very well put together and a real wolf in sheeps colthing.
My only very very minor gripe is the suspension is very stiff but if I wanted a soft car I would have got something that was soft!

Of those I'd take the 130i M sport if you can get one at that price. The 6 cylinder engine is one of the best.
Can well believe the MPG figures I got 36mpg out of the old 3.0 unit@70mph over a few thousand K's.
