Thumbs up 106 Rallye S1

What a car

just bought one last night, and the last few miles home, I thought I'd take the back roads (small twisty lanes)

I had a great big grin on my face all the time, I dont know how these little 1.3 tin can cars can be so much fun, but it just is

I've had 6 impreza's over the last few years from a sti 5 to a modded 2004 wrx, and the grin in the 106 is just as big as in any impreza for me,
plus I've paid more for a remap for a scoob than what I paid for the little rallye

You cant beat those old school french motors can you? Not many believed me when I said one of the reasons I sold my 330 horse scoob was because I got a bigger buzz from my 130bhp 205......

I've always quite fancied one, but I worry about reliability... I did a quick search just now, and the only ones on the market had mods, good sign they've not been driven gently to the super market once a week!

got my 205 for sale if any one interested, top fun car, see general for sale section.
Definately more fun than the Scoob to drive, wet or dry,hard to explain the feeling of the car on the road,but a great drivers car. 130bhp fun all the way at realistic speeds on the public highway.

Used to have the 106 1.4 XSi, that was a top motor once you got moving! Still miss the little french number now Friend had the Rallye version and I think that felt a little quicker and definately more raw.

The 1.6 Rallye was the rare one to get your hands on not much more power but more torque

Tony there are loads of S2 rallyes about, I think you will find that the rare ones are the S1, being as most of them would be smashed up by now, plus mines only done 49k miles

S1 = more revvy engine =

I've always fancied an S2 as a track car - like you said a nice old school torquey 1.6 8v engine
