Default Tyre Pressures

Been experimenting with tyre pressures recently, now I am doing more miles.

used to do 32 front and 30 rear, have been bumping it up so now its 38 front and 35 rear and its transformed the car (Saab 9-3), it feels much tauter and accurate, there is actually some feedback from the front end, the handling before was ****, now its verging on below average, so much so I actually for the first time enjoyed it on a country road !

Those pressures are slightly over the book maximum for that set up but only by 2 psi in the front, remains to be seen what its like in the wet, might be a bit skittish but I can always let some out and the tyres are due changing soon so it doesnt matter if it wrecks them which I doubt it will anyway.

Anyone else noticed improvements like this ?
