Default Value remappable diesel?

A punto 1.9 jtd can be taken up 130bhp easily and is loads of fun, I am looking for a diesel runabout for the next few months and this one which keeps popping up.

The VAG's are good but i would be looking at high milers for what i want to spend, anyone had a bargain diesel which when remapped go really well?

Bravo/brava 110 jtd is another one.

cheers

But which will be more reliable, a high milage VAG or a lower milage Fiat?

I wouldn't touch a Fiat whatever the milage to be honest.

Cheers

Yep, any of the 130 bhp VW engined motors go to 170/180 plus with a remap, its a good engine, even our lump of a Sharan, only a 115 bhp model doesnt feel underpowered and that isnt mapped, get past ultimate power figures/performance figures and in real world driving they are very good, even the lowly 100 bhp Golf feels well up to the job.

Ive got a VW PD130, can second all those comments on VAG diesels, but from mates experience, the 1.9 jtd Fiat is a real good diesel engine. Not sure how reliable once its mapped though.

Ive had a golf gt tdi 115 and a scudo van jtd. Both engines were very good and strong standard. For upgrading the engine I'd go VW everytime.
