How much to expect off BMW dealer asking price
I'm test driving a 535d touring this afternoon. Any idea how much margin they're likely to have on it, and how much I can ask off? Asking price is £37k I think.

I paid 36k for mines & it was pre registered. Traded it in around about 9 months later & got 31k for it from the same dealer. Mines was the M Sport in Black with all the toys
Fantastic car & they go like the wind.
I myself have traded "up" to a E320 Cdi although not as fast its a lot more comfortable
It all depends on what options you want, i would aim for at least a couple of k but i wouldnt bet on it. Mainly due to the fact that there is nothing like them on the market at the moment so they are a bit niche.

How many miles did yours have on it when you bought it? Did you keep the runflat tyres? I hear that changing them makes a big difference to comfort levels.
As far as options goes... I want them all, head-up display, panoramic roof, night vision...

I was looking at a 530d saloon (32k) 3 months ago and they knocked off an initial 1k (even with a part ex figure which was 500 pounds above its book value) - i then negioted a further 900 pounds reduction and some freebies - so in the end the 32k price came down to under 30k.
not sure what their margin is, but the used car market is tough right now so if they dont budge walk and goto another dealer like i did - one of them will play ball.
I hoep this helps..

I think the level of discount may vary with rarity of car. A 530d, I would suspect doesn't have a long waiting list, wheras a 535d would. Also if there is no list, buying a car from dealer stock that has a spec that they ordered will get a larger discount than a car ordered to your own spec.
