Get yourself to the local car auctions mate, I bought a 2.2 diesel laguna last year for £300 withs 12 months of mot, have done nearly 15000 miles between me n the missus in it and the only thing I have had to replace is a new backbox.(second hand one from scrappy). Its coming upto mot time again and it needs a new cat if i cant get a secondhand one will put it in the auction and get another diesel
Been up to have a look today and saw a td corsa with 99000 on the clock go for £350, if i can get something like that next week will be well chuffed.

Forget 205s, at that price they'll be crap and/or old. Best bet is fiestas not too old etc. Cars get cheap but running costs don't so don't go for anything big or sporty unless running costs aren't an issue.

Hi,
I have a Fiat Brava, 1996, with around 68,000-70,000 miles and a decent wad of history.
Aside from a large dent on the rear quarter and a cracked bumper is really good.
Comes with electric windows, adjustable (height) drivers seat, electric sunroof, PAS.
And an airbag, and 15" TSW wheels. Had a new clutch a year ago, cambelt, recent service.
I am after £600, drop me a PM if your interested. Car is based in Stockton-on-tees, and will happily commute to London if taxed.
I may keep it and sell my mums Punto (X reg) as the Brava is miles better.

Good idea son, I dont know about the car auctions where you are but down ere the cars under a £1k have the keys in them so you can get an idea of what the car is like.

£50 for the KA 1.3 but it needs a bit of a service I think. Bonnet has a dent.

Bloke at work is flogging this if your interested? (Copied & pasted from our internal advertisements)

Black Cirtroen ZX Turbo -Diesel 1996 N-Reg ( 5 Door Hatchback)

The Volcane was a sports edition which comes with power steering, driver's airbag, electric windows, electric sunroof, central locking & front spot lights. Just been serviced, 2 new tyres, replacement part exhaust, new MOT and taxed for 6 months
I have regularly serviced this car, all bills and MOT's for last 3 years, timing belt replaced last year. Above average motorway mileage , plus oil and filter changed every 6000 miles
The interior is in lovely condition with a nice black patterned velour, not the usual cloth interior and is in excellent condition; clean with no rips, burns, smoke or saggy seats. Colour coded bumpers & door mirrors.
The ZX shares mechanicals with the Peugeot 306 and that the turbo diesel is the sought after model which is both economical and powerful.
Selling due to new car
In summary, this is a straightforward, reliable, starts on the button tidy car which is ready to use – it’s fully serviced and ready to go. You are welcome to view at Stockley Park or in the Brent Cross or Bedford area.

£950.00 ono

I think its an R, Silver, haven't a clue re miles but the bonnet has been "re-styled" due to a minor frontal - sticks up bout an inch or so near the front and a crease across the front but not too noticeable.

Tax/MOT no idea.

It belongs to the missus of a chap at work. He said that it "loses power" in 3rd/4th and it may be clutch related. Chap hasn't got a licence so likely doesn't have mech knowledge & his partner is not too techy either.

Car is in Beckenham but maybe can come up to Whitechapel
