My dear old papa has just bought himself a 1997 Lexus LS400 (excellent condition with every electrical gizzmo you can imagine and only 76k on the clock for £4000! True it looks like an amorphous blob - but I was wasting my breath trying to get him to by a scoob even though he thinks mine is the mut's nuts!!).

Anyway I am trying to convince him not to be a fool with his money and get the car serviced by an independent lexus specialist (no point paying affiliated marque garage prices on any car that experiences this level of devaluation).

Does anyone know of any such garage in the South West area (he's near Shepton Mallet - 20 miles south of Bristol).

Any advice and guidance much appreciated

I dont know of any Lexus specialists near Bristol, but to be honest at that age you might as well just get servicing done in any 1/2 decent garage. I agree that its certainly not worth paying for servicing at Lexus on a 10year old car, and unless you have a specific problem then I dont really see why you need a specialist.
