Changing interior on new car (BMW) - warranty?
Hoping to order a new BMW at some point, but hate their choices of leather.
When I got my Toyota I didn't like their choices, but the showroom found a company that made interiors "to a standard that could be covered by the Toyota warranty" and I was able to have the finish I wanted (leather/alcantara mix, like my old Terzo).
I've asked the BMW salesman about this option and been told that "That's it mate", no change is possible.
Anyone know what is likely to happen if I buy a new one with cloth seats and take it for re-covering to another company? I can imagine a battle between "no warranty" and "no warranty for damages arising from the alteration" (whatever they may be ), and of course I can ask BMW directly, but wondered if anyone here had such experience?
Thanks
Brendan

i would imagine that it would only effect any changes that arise due to the recovering of the interior?
i.e. engine blows up, why would that be affected?

Get information on the BMW Individual options. You can all sorts of nasty unconventional combinations, so more tasteful ones should be possible. Might depend on the model as to how comprehensive the Individual options are.
