Default honda 4ws

Is the honda 4 wheel steering reliable? my sister is looking at buying a 95 prelude 2.2 vtec with the 4ws,and i wanted to know if they go wrong.
What would happen if you went over a pothole or slightly kerbed a wheel, would it **** the geometry and 4ws system up?

The earlier mechanical system was reliable, the later electronic setup has a nasty habit of tripping out easily. It returns to straight ahead so its not dangerous in any way, but when Dealers charge £25 to reset it you can get quite annoyed. My parents returned their Gen5 Prelude Vti to the dealer after several tripouts. They offer no solution to it either, and just expect you to payup everytime.
