I'd like to know how they are worked out as the Porsche depreciation stats don't always add up. Mainly as hardly any sell for RRP and are always specced up with some options which puts a few grand on the price.

Are the figures trade in values or selling prices? I know Porsche offer poor trade-ins but have a high markup on their used forecourts.

You said it! 996s (in particular facelifted ones) are losing value hand over fist - I know I sold a 996 after one year of ownership... it was painful.

Even 997s are dropping £10++ grand after a year

It's the 996 C2 "S" they are reffering to, not the standard 996 C2, however they never made a C2 "S", but they did make a C4 "S" which does hold it's value pretty well indeed.

Yes they lose value, but in terms of %, I doubt it's any worse than any other car.

True, but £45k will buy you a lowish miler 2002 C4s. With options thats probably a £25-£30k drop in 3.5 years (assuming £5k profit on the trade in).

Too many 996s around for values to remain high.

Incedentally an equivalent mileage 993 C4S go for just more/same as a 2002 996 C4S!!
