New car time?
I feel it might be time to part with the scooby. having pretty much just got it how i want i am moving into dad mode and think that i should get something a bit more sensible, what with the baby on the way.
The trouble is what though? What ever i get is going to seem boring against the impreza.
any suggestions for what to get. budget would be about £4.5k. must have a bit of go but be economical too. what with the wife only earning £106 a week for the next 6 months!!!

if yours is a four door, keep it. loads of room in boot for the buggy and the car seat. Why bother????? Just remember to take a more responsible attitude when driving. Congrats mate!!!!

Colinj - Never been a fan of accords. would you really get a type r for about £4.5k though?
nig mo - cheers.
yup it's a four door. even if i drive it very conservitively i still only see about 220 miles to £45 of petrol. it's never bothered me in the past as i feel it's a small price to pay for having an impreza. although now i'd like to get something that will return a few more mpg and be a bit cheaper on the insurance. am only paying £750 full comp at 26 so that's pretty good but a more family car will only be half that.

I bought a Volvo T5 when i started having kids. It was wafty, quiet, quick and safe. Mapped to 300hp it kept it amusing. It will only do 25-30 mpg though.
The other alternative is a Passat 130 TDI and have it chipped to 180bhp / 300lb/ft. Not that interesting but brisk enough to not get fed up.
