I've always wanted one of these. Doubt I'll ever afford it, of course. Fantastic door design, much more interesting than the scissor doors that every chav aspires to. I've been driven around in one with the doors open, and it was quite a laugh. I think the bodywork is composite. Not as light as you would expect, but solidly built as a German car is expected to be.

This one on Pistonheads looks the business. Original camouflage pattern leather seats, and it's got the Hartge engine upgrade (over 200bhp) to give it the power it deserves. Almost like an E30 M3 in a parallel universe...

Now, where did I put that spare £18.5k...?

it is a beautiful thing IMO, I was looking at one of these 4/5 years but I bought an E30 M3 instead, the price has actually gone up since then! Very sophisticated car, they used it as a test for suspension components that were later used in the E46, would love one as well, although only let down was the engine...not quite a sports car but lots of fun to be had.
